You can now “Same Day Register and Vote.” During early one-stop voting ONLY, you can both register and vote at the same time. YOU CANNOT SAME-DAY REGISTER ON ELECTION DAY PROPER. To register and same-day vote, you will need to present identification that shows proof of Wilkes County residency (i.e., one or more of the following: a driver’s license with a local address, a document from Wilkes Community College showing current name and address, a paycheck stub, a bank statement, or a utility bill in your name that includes a local address). If you are a student, it’s a good idea to take your Student ID as well. Read One Stop Voting Below.
