Outreach Programs at the Wilkes County Public Library

These series of  programs will be presented in the Friends Room in the lower level of the Wilkes County Public Library. The public is invited, admission is free, and the programs should appeal to all ages. The programs will begin at 3 PM.

Schedule:  
  May 4, the history and current -day activities of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) by Phyliss Moulton
May 11, the role and authority of the FDIC in monitoring and controlling the activities of the banking industry by Dave Moulton
May 18, activities involved in monitoring and improving food safety
May 25, discussion of horses. If live horses are involved, this program will be held outside, in the Ruritan Park.

These nonpartisan, public information programs are sponsored by the Wilkes Democratic Party.

CENTURY CLUB DINNER

We were honored to have Joseph Galloway speak at our Century Club Dinner on March 2, 2013.  Mr. Galloway won a Bronze Star for carrying wounded soldiers to safety during the Vietnam War.  To read more about him and the event, see the Journal Patriot link below.
